KENOSHA, Wis. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology volleyball team picked up its second straight win, defeating Finlandia University in straight sets 25-11, 25-13, 25-7 on Friday at the Carthage Invitational.
Rose-Hulman relied on 38 kills and 15 service aces to take control of the three-set match. Riley Woodruff led the Fightin' Engineers with 10 kills just one error and a .600 hitting percentage. Elizaeth Canon added eight kills.
Katie Orbeta recorded 17 assists and seven service aces, with Eryn Castaneda contributing 12 assists and five aces to the Engineer offense. Katryna Dahlberg had a team-high 18 digs for the Engineers.
Rose-Hulman improved to 5-9 on the season with its second straight win, while Finlandia dropped to 0-9. The Fightin' Engineers face Concordia (Wis.) at noon on and No. 10 ranked and tournament host Carthage at 4 p.m. CT on Saturday.
