Men's Soccer Picks Up Win Against Greenville 1-0

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers men's soccer team was able to defeat the Greenville Panthers on Tuesday with a final score of 1-0.  This improves Rose-Hulman to 2-0 on the season overall.  

The Engineers were able to set the pace early in the first half.  Sam Alvares was able to get to the back of the net in the sixth minute after an assist from Brevin Lacy.  This put the Engineers ahead 1-0 early in the match.  Rose-Hulman was able to control the ball outshooting the Panthers 5-0 in the first half. 

Greenville looked to put some pressure on the Engineers defense in the second half with nine shots.  The Engineers defense did not break and recorded their second shutout of the season defeating the Panthers with a final score of 1-0.  

Alvares led the team offensively with two shots in the match.  Goalie Pascal Schlee lead the team to their second shutout of the season with four saves on the day. 

Rose-Hulman stands at 2-0 overall this season and will return to action traveling to Albion College on Saturday, 9/7 at 11:00 AM.
