Strong Defense Leads MSJ Past Rose-Hulman Women's Basketball

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Mount St. Joseph used a strong defensive performance to earn a 47-29 women's basketball victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday afternoon in Cincinnati.

Chloe Jansen led the Mount St. Joseph offense with 19 points, and Maddie Haberthy also reached double figures for the Lions with 13 points.

Mount St. Joseph held the Fightin' Engineers to just 11 field goals in the contest and hit 11 three-pointers of their own to pick up the win.

Jordan Barlow paced Rose-Hulman with 10 points on 4-6 from the field.  Kahlan Jester added six points, and Nosa Igiehon scored five points for the Engineers.  Hannah Woody added a team-high eight rebounds.

Mount St. Joseph improved to 3-10 and 2-4 in HCAC play, while Rose-HJulman dropped to 0-6 in league play.  The Fightin' Engineers travel to Anderson University in another Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup on Wednesday.
