Men's Basketball Hosts Transylvania on Saturday at 3 PM

TERRE HAUTE, Ind -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology hosts Transylvania University in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball action on Saturday at 3 pm.

Rose-Hulman (7-7, 4-3 HCAC) News & Notes:

  • Rose-Hulman has won five of its last six games entering Saturday's matchup with Transylvania.
  • Rose-Hulman narrowly fell 70-62 to Anderson on Wednesday night, but two players recorded  strong double-doubles.  Craig McGee scored 22 points with 11 rebounds, and John Czarnecki had 13 points and a career-high 14 rebounds.
  • Career-high scoring efforts from Eli Combs (16 points), Max Chaplin (14 points) and Vuk Djuric (9 points) helped lift Rose-Hulman past Mount St. Joseph 74-68 last Saturday.
  • Craig McGee leads the HCAC in assists (7.1 per game) and is ranked second in the conference in scoring (17.9 ppg) and rebounding (8.8 rpg).
  • Three players have crossed 20 points in a game this season for the Fightin' Engineers.  Craig McGee has six 20-point performances, and both Zach Callahan and Trey Wurtz have one each.
  • Head coach Rusty Loyd enters contest with a career record of 87-60.  Loyd has led Rose-Hulman to one regular season confrence title and two appearances in the HCAC Tournament Championship Game.
  • After Saturday's game, Rose-Hulman travels to HCAC leader Franklin College on Wednesday at 7:30 pm.

Transylvania (7-7, 3-4 HCAC) News & Notes:

  • Transylvania enters Saturday's matchup with a 7-7 record and a 3-4 conference mark after a close loss at Hanover on Wednesday.
  • Gabe Schmitt leads three Transylvania players in double figures at 15.5 points per game
  • Michael Jefferson (14.1 ppg) and Lucas Gentry (12.1 ppg) are also double-figure scorers for the Pioneers.
  • Head coach Brian Lane crossed the 300-win mark at Transylvania earlier this season.  His career record stands at 301-194 entering Saturday's game.
