Huge Second Half Leads Women's Basketball Past Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology outscored Manchester University 42-25 in the second half to overcome an eight-point halftime deficit and earn a 66-57 women's basketball road victory on Wednesday night.

Nola Wilson and Hannah Woody tied for game-high scoring honors with 17 points each for Rose-Hulman.  Wilson finished 6-8 from the field with seven rebounds, while Woody was 6-13 and a perfect 4-4 on the free throw line.

Desirae Webster also joined the duo in double figures with 11 points, six rebounds and four steals.  Nosa Igiehon contributed seven points and seven rebounds, and Rose Burnham scored seven points with six rebounds in a balanced offensive performance.

Macy Miller had a team-high 15 points to lead three Manchester players in double figures.

Rose-Hulman trailed 32-24 at the half after Manchester closed the opening half on an 8-0 run.  The Engineers answered in the third quarter, tying the game at 38-38 on a Woody three-pointer at the 3:16 mark.

Rose-Hulman took a 43-42 lead after the third quarter, then outscored Manchester 13-2 to open the fourth.  The balanced rally was capped by baskets from Webster, Kahlan Jester, Igiehon and Burnham.  Manchester closed to within six points, but Rose-Hulman increased the lead to double figures three different times to pick up the victory.

Rose-Hulman improved to 4-14 and 3-8 in league play with the win, while the Spartans dropped to 8-10 and 5-6 in league games.  The Fightin' Engineers will celebrate Senior Day for Woody this Saturday at 1 pm inside Hulbert Arena.
