Women's Basketball Suffers Road Loss to the Grizzlies

FRANKLIN, Ind. -- Franklin College relied on a strong defensive effort to top the Rose-Hulman women's basketball team 58-39 on Wednesday.

Hannah Woody was the leading scorer for the Engineers finishing with 11 points.  Kahlan Jester was also able to contribute offensively with eight points and seven rebounds.  Rose Burnham and Nosa Igiehon led the team on the boards recording nine rebounds each.

Igiehon contributed seven points, and Jordan Barlow had six for Rose-Hulman.

Destinee Cross led the Franklin offense with 12 points, and Ashlin Aycock contributed 11 points to the effort.

Rose-Hulman was able to put up a fight in the first period with multiple lead changes between the two teams.  Franklin would rely on their three point shooting to jump ahead of the Engineers 20-12 at the end of the quarter.  

The Grizzlies would continue to build on their momentum to maintain their lead for the remainder of the game.  Franklin finished the contest shooting 40 percent from three-point range.  

The Engineers will travel to face the Defiance Yellow Jackets on Saturday at 1 pm.
