Women's Basketball Completes Season with Road Loss at Hanover

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology completed a 7-18 women's basketball season with a 71-52 loss at Hanover College on Saturday afternoon.

The Fightin' Engineers finished 6-12 in conference play in a season that showed consistent improvement.  After a slow start with a youthful roster, Rose-Hulman finished 6-6 over its final 12 games to build momentum for next season.

Hanover earned a share of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship and finished 17-1 in league play with Saturday's win.  The Panthers are the No. 2 seed for the upcoming HCAC Tournament, behind NCAA Division III top 10 team Transylvania.

Desirae Webster led the Rose-Hulman offense with 12 points and five rebounds.  Nosa Igiehon added 10 points, five rebounds and four steals as a second player in double figures.

Hannah Woody completed her Fightin' Engineer career with eight points and four rebounds.  Jordan Barlow added seven points, Rose Burnham scored six points, Nola Wilson scored five, and Avery Lewman pitched in four for the Engineers.

Katie Hartman scored 24 points and Alexis Nall had 20 points for the Panthers.

Rose-Hulman maintained striking distance in the first half, trailing just 33-25 at the break.  Hanover relied on a 22-9 third quarter spurt to pull away and secure the victory.

The Fightin' Engineers finish their season at 7-18 and will begin the 2020-21 season in mid-November.
