LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer wins at Transylvania University 3-1 on Saturday, securing the sixth straight victory. RHIT moves to 9-4-1 overall and a perfect 6-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play.
The Fightin' Engineers controlled the contest early, scoring twice in the first half.Â
Tatenda Mafa was credited with the first goal in the 21st minute, assisted by
Caleb Urban, and
Takezo Kelly scored the second goal in the 33rd minute from
AJ Yilmaz.
Matt Fix scored the third and final goal for Rose-Hulman, assisted by Urban.
Rose-Hulman outshot the Pioneers 15-10 in the contest, led by Kelly with four. Both Yilmaz and Urban recorded three shots.
Mafa has scored three goals in the last four games.
The Fightin' Engineers head to Hanover College on Wednesday, October 20 for another HCAC contest against the Panthers. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30pm.
