TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology picked up a straight set win over Defiance College in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball opener on Saturday afternoon.
The Fightin' Engineers improved to 9-8 overall on the season with the 25-22, 25-18, 26-24 victory.Â
Elizabeth Canon led the offense with 15 kills.Â
Jillian Gregg added 10 digs, 9 kills and 8 assists to the performance.
Sophia Harrison had a team-high 21 assists.Â
Sophia Koop added six kills and team-highs of 13 digs and 3 service aces.Â
Kylie Rathbun joined Koop with 13 digs and also provided 2 service aces.
Allie Fults recorded 1 solo and 5 total blocks, and Canon contributed 4 block assists to the victory.
Rose-Hulman stands 9-8 and 1-0 in HCAC play, while Defiance dropped to 2-9 and 0-1 in league play. The Fightin' Engineers travel to Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday in the next HCAC match.
