TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's swimming and diving team relied on five top-3 finishes to place second at the Indiana Division III Swimming and Diving Invitational on Saturday at the Vigo County Aquatic Center.
Franklin won the 5-team meet, with Rose-Hulman coming in a strong second place.
Cate Stauffer led the Fightin' Engineer individual performances with a second place in the 1,000 freestyle in a time of 11:45.76.
The 200-medley relay team of
Natalija Pumpurs,
Lauren Meyer,
Megan Howell and Stauffer also came home second in 2:02.23.
Third-place finishers for Rose-Hulman included
Tori Kinnamon in the 200-butterfly (2:32.97); Pumpurs in the 200-backstroke (2:22.65); and the 400-freestyle relay team of
Therese Jaeger,
Riya Bharamaraddi, Kinnamon and
Hayden Mattick in a time of 4:12.79.
Rose-Hulman returns to women's swimming and diving action on Oct. 30 at Illinois Wesleyan.
