TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology volleyball team relied on a balanced attack to defeat Bluffton University 25-22, 25-21, 25-8 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball action on Sunday afternoon.
Rose-Hulman also hosted its annual Cancer Research Day fundraiser for the Dan Duncan Cancer Research Center at Baylor University at Sunday's match.
Elizabeth Canon led the Rose-Hulman offense with 12 kills, and
Sophia Koop added nine kills.
Jillian Gregg had a team-high 32 assists, and
Sydney Naibauer provided a team-high three blocks.
Kylie Rathbun added a strong all-around performance with team-highs of 22 digs and five service aces. Koop and
Sophia Harrison added three aces each, and
Claudia Rowan contributed 12 digs to the performance.
Rose-Hulman improved to 11-14 and 2-5 in HCAC play, while Bluffton dropped to 9-17 and 1-6 in league matches. The Fightin' Engineers return to action at Earlham College on Wednesday night.
