BLUFFTON, Ohio -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology volleyball team took the road for their final match of the season against Bluffton on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Despite two close sets, Bluffton came out with the 26-24, 25-17, 26-24 victory.
Elizabeth Canon led the team with 12 points and paced the team with 7 kills.
Sophia Koop led the Fightin' Engineers with 9 kills and contributed 9 points for the team.
Katryna Dahlberg helped on defense with 16 digs in her final Rose-Hulman match.
Kylie Rathbun, Canon, and Koop helped the Fightin' Engineers defend with 9 digs each.
Remi Bower led Bluffton's team with 18 kills.
The first set was a back and forth battle between Rose-Hulman and Bluffton. The Fightin' Engineer\s took the largest lead at 15-9, only for Bluffton to make a comeback and win the first set 26-24. Bluffton took the lead and scored five straight points to secure a set two win.
In the third set, Rose-Hulman took an early lead with a seven-point run putting them ahead by five, but Bluffton rallied for a 26-24 win. Rose-Hulman finished the 2021 season with a 2-7 record, while Bluffton improved to 6-3 in HCAC play.
