ANDERSON, Ind. -- Anderson University withstood a second half charge by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to pick up a 79-71 men's basketball victory on Saturday afternoon.
Craig McGee led the team with 21 points and four assists.
Zach Callahan contributed 10 points for the Fightin' Engineers, and went 4-4 at the free-throw line to help the team.
Samvit Ram helped the offense with nine points.
Jacob Back and
Dillon Duff helped the offense with six points each. Duff lead the team with five rebounds and Back with four.
Austin Lyons led the Anderson offense with 20 points.
Rose-Hulman held a 33-24 lead after a score from McGee, before Anderson closed the first half on a 13-0 run to gain a 37-33 lead at the half. Rose-Hulman kept the game within 74-70 in the final two minutes, before a key three-pointer by Lyons at the 1:21 mark moved the lead to seven points and secured the win.
The team continues their season at Manchester University on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 5pm.
