NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team opened the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule with a 9-0 victory at Manchester University on Saturday afternoon.
The win marked Rose-Hulman's 48th consecutive victory against HCAC competition dating back to May 2014.
Singles winners included
Joshua Giambattista at No. 1;
Grant Stamper at No. 2;
Joseph Conrad at No. 3;
Rhian Seneviratne at No. 4;
Mark Slaninka at No. 5; and
Arudrra Krishnan at No. 6.
In doubles play, the team of Conrad and Slaninka won at No. 1; Giambattista and Seneviratne won at No. 2; and Stamper and Krishnan won at No. 3.
Rose-Hulman improved to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in HCAC play with the win, while Manchester dropped to 2-5 and 0-1 in league matches. The Fightin' Engineers travel to DePauw University on Wednesday night in a non-conference match.
