TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team stands 3-2 on the season and 2-0 in HCAC play after splitting two matches on Saturday.
The Fightin' Engineers topped Anderson 8-1 on Saturday morning, before falling to Principia 6-3 in the afternoon.
In the opener, Rose-Hulman won five of six singles matches and swept the three doubles matches to pick up its 49th consecutive win against HCAC competition.
Joshua Giambattista won at the No. 1 singles flight, with
Grant Stamper winning at No. 2 and
Joseph Conrad taking a victory at No. 3 singles.
Hart Howard added a win at No. 4 singles, and
Mark Slaninka won at the No. 6 singles flight.
In doubles play, the team of Conrad and Howard won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles. Giambattista and
Rhian Seneviratne won 8-4 at No. 2 doubles, and Slaninka and Stamper won 8-2 at the No. 3 flight.
Against Principia, Slaninka and Stamper again won at the No. 3 doubles flight. Howard and Slaninka picked up victories in singles play.
Rose-Hulman returns to action at home on Thursday April 8 against Franklin at 6 pm.
