NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. -- Transylvania University won four third-set matches to take home a 7-2 women's tennis victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Saturday at Top Seed Tennis Club.
Rose-Hulman relied on a pair of singles wins to lead the day.Â
Taylor Goldman won 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (11-9) at No. 2 singles, and
Hannah Snider brought home a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 6 singles.
Fanny-Jane Banda narrowly lost a 12-10 third-set tiebreaker at No. 1 singles, and
Breanna Rogers narrowly fell 6-4 in the third set at No. 3 as the Fightin' Engineers remained within striking distance for much of the day.
Transylvania improved to 4-1 and 2-0 in HCAC play, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 2-2 and 2-1 in league matches. The Fightin' Engineers travel to Hanover for an HCAC match and a non-conference matchup on Sunday.
