TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team completed a 4-1 conference season with a 9-0 shutout victory over Franklin College on Saturday at Brickway Tennis Club.
Fanny-Jane Banda and
Caleigh Kintner were honored prior to their final matches in Terre Haute. Banda improved to 43-9 in her singles career with a straight-set win, and Kintner was honored as a 2-year member of the squad.
Saturday singles winners included Banda at No. 1;
Taylor Goldman at No. 2;
Breanna Rogers at No. 3;
Ruby Kauffman at No. 4;
Ella Dorfmueller at No. 5; and
Hannah Snider at No. 6.
The doubles team of Rogers and Goldman won at No. 1; Banda and Kauffman won at No. 2; and Snider and Dorfmueller won at No. 3.
Rose-Hulman has secured the No. 2 seed for the upcoming Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament with today's result. Franklin dropped to 1-3 in HCAC play. The Fightin' Engineers will play an HCAC Tournament semifinal match at Top Seed Tennis Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky, on May 8.
