Men's Tennis to Compete at HCAC Tournament This Weekend

HCAC TOURNAMENT PROGRAM


TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team will travel to Top Seed Tennis Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky, to compete in the 2020-21 HCAC Championships this weekend.

HCAC TOURNAMENT WEEKEND MATCHUPS:

Saturday May 8 - Semifinals
2:30 pm - #2 Rose-Hulman vs. #3 Transylvania
4 pm - #1 Hanover vs. #4 Anderson

Sunday May 9 - Championship Match
12:30 pm - Saturday Winners

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team seeks its 6th consecutive NCAA Division III Tournament appearance at this week's HCAC Tournament.  The winning team this weekend receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
* Rose-Hulman stands 51-1 in its last 52 matches against HCAC competition entering this weekend's conference tournament.
* Rose-Hulman won the HCAC Tournament championship in 2015-19.  The 2020 HCAC Tournament was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
* Josh Giambattista has been named HCAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week three times this season.  Giambattista is 6-3 in singles play this season.
* Joseph Conrad joins Giambattista with a 6-3 singles record.  Grant Stamper, Hart Howard and Mark Slaninka each have five singles win this spring.
* The doubles team of Slaninka and Stamper is a perfect 7-0 this season.  Stamper is 9-0 individually in doubles matches and Slaninka is 8-0.
* Ian Landwehr is scheduled to make his 2021 debut at the HCAC Tournament.  The two-time HCAC Most Valuable Player has a career record of 44-13 in singles play at Rose-Hulman.
