BROWNSBURG, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team sent select individuals to compete in the ITA Regionals hosted by Wabash College in Brownsburg, Indiana, over the weekend.
The team was led by
Tim Eckermann, posting a 2-3 overall record across doubles and singles play. He teamed up with
Chris Lian in doubles to earn a win in their opening-round match against Oberlin with a score of 8-4. Then Eckermann picked up a victory in singles during the consolation draw against Augustana with scores of 7-6 (7-1), 1-6, 10-5.
The other doubles team of
Eli McIntyre and
Ervin Perkowski also picked up a win in their first match of the main draw, defeating their opponents from Wittenberg with a score of 8-5.
Ephraim Guthrie was another standout in singles play, winning his opening-round match against Kalamazoo with scores of 6-1, 6-0.
The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team will return home to host Asbury on Saturday, October 17, at 11 AM.
