LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology wrapped up the 2021 softball season and cmpleted the careers of two seniors on Friday night at Transylvania University.
The host Pioneers won the opener 11-0 and captured the nightcap 13-3, improving to 12-2 in conference play.
In game one, Allyson O'Dell hit a grand slam to lead the Transylvania offense and the pitching staff combined on a 2-hit shutout.
The Rose-Hulman offense featured singles by
Ashley Pinkham and
Mackenzie Hunt.
In game two, Transylvania relied on a big first inning and five extra-base hits to claim a 13-3 win.
Alexis Fortuna finished 2-2 with a double and one run scored to ead the Rose-Hulman offense.Â
Reagan Knabe added a triple, one run and one RBI.
Ashley Pinkham contributed a single and one RBI, and
Gabrielle Davidson had a single and scored once.
Rose-Hulman also completed the playing careers of their pair of seniors
Emily Struble and
Jessica Thuer in the contest.
Transylvania improved to 24-8, while Rose-Hulman completed the season at 9-27.
