TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team travels to Greenville University to open the 2021 season on Wednesday at 7 pm Central Time.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman has been picked as preseason favorites to win the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship this season, in a preason poll of league coaches.
* Rose-Hulman finished 9-0-1 and won both the HCAC regular season and tournament championships during the spring 2020-21 season.
* The HCAC preseason release listed Takezo Kelly (HCAC Offensive Player of the Year), Caleb Urban (1st-team all-HCAC) and AJ Yilmaz (1st-team all-HCAC) as returning players to watch. 
* Kelly scored 10 goals with 24 points, Urban added two goals and 11 points, and Yilmaz scored three goals with nine points last season. 
* The defense is led by returning goalkeeper Evan Hofer, who finished 9-0-1 with six combined shutouts and a 0.45 goals against average last spring.

GREENVILLE NOTES:
* Greenville finished 4-7-3 overall in the spring 2020-21 season, with a 4-4-2 conference record.
* The Panthers reached the SLIAC Tournament quarterfinals before falling 1-0 to Westminster.
* Luis Duran led the Panthers with seven goals and 14 points last season.
