TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology opened the Wittenberg Invitational with a 3-set loss to the host Tigers on Friday night.
Rose-Hulman battled the perennial national power to a tight 30-28 opening set, before Wittenberg captured the last two sets 25-12 and 25-11.
Elizabeth Canon led Rose-Hulman with eight kills.Â
Sophia Koop and
Kate Wood had seven kills each.
Jillian Gregg and
Sophia Harrison had 14 assists each, with Gregg adding the lone assist of the day. Â
Kylie Rathbun had a team-high 11 digs, with Koop contributing eight. Â
Rose-Hulman stands 4-5 on the year, while Wittenberg improved to 6-4. The Fightin' Engineers return to action with two matches on Saturday, against Marietta (noon) and Heidelberg (2 pm).
