TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team travels to Washington University on Saturday at 7 pm Central Time for a matchup against the perennial national power Bears.
ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman has been picked as preseason favorites to win the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship this season, in a preason poll of league coaches.
* Rose-Hulman narrowly fell 2-1 to Greenville in overtime in the season opener on Wednesday.
* 
Jackson Seida scored Rose-Hulman's goal on Wednesday, with an assist to 
Takezo Kelly.
* The HCAC preseason release listed 
Takezo Kelly (HCAC Offensive Player of the Year), 
Caleb Urban (1st-team all-HCAC) and 
AJ Yilmaz (1st-team all-HCAC) as returning players to watch. 
* Kelly scored 10 goals with 24 points, Urban added two goals and 11 points, and Yilmaz scored three goals with nine points last season. 
* The defense is led by returning goalkeeper 
Evan Hofer, who finished 9-0-1 with six combined shutouts and a 0.45 goals against average last spring.
WASHU NOTES:
* WashU played its first game since 2019 on Wednesday, defeating Illinois Wesleyan 3-0.
* Sergio Rivas scored two goals and Owen Culver provided the third goal in Wednesday's victory.
* The tandem of Matt Martin and Connor O'Brien combined on a shutout with four saves.
