ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team falls to Washington University in St. Louis 1-0 on Saturday night. Rose-Hulman falls to 0-2 on the young season while WashU improved to 1-0.
The contest was scoreless until WashU netted the lone goal in the 89th minute. The Bears outshot the Engineers 15-5, but the strong defensive effort was led by
Evan Hofer with six saves.
Takezo Kelly paced Rose-Hulman with three shots.
AJ Yilmaz and
Caleb Urban each added one shot.
The Fightin' Engineers begin a four-match home stretch beginning Wednesday, September 8 versus Wabash College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.
