TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team hosts Defiance in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday at 3 pm.

ROSE-HULMAN GAME NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman and Defiance meet in a key matchup within the crowded HCAC standings at Hulbert Arena.
* Rose-Hulman narrowly fell 73-69 at Manchester on Wednesday, despite a career-high 21 points from
Max Chaplin.
Terry Hicks added a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Fightin' Engineers.
* Rose-Hulman has won five of its last seven games entering today's matchup with Defiance. The string of success includes wins over Transylvania, Earlham, Mount St. Joseph, Webster and Franklin.

Max Chaplin (14.7 ppg),
Terry Hicks (12.0 ppg) and
Dillon Duff (11.7 ppg) average double figures in scoring this year.
* Rose-Hulman has a record of 7-0 when the Fightin' Engineers allow 65 points or less.
* The Fightin' Engineers have a roster featuring players across the nation. The 18 players came to Terre Haute from nine states.
* Rose-Hulman returns home on Wednesday (Jan. 19) to face Anderson at 7:30 pm.
DEFIANCE GAME NOTES:
* Defiance stands 5-7 overall and 3-2 in HCAC play entering today's matchup.
* Anderson defeated Defiance 80-52 on Wednesday. Dejsani Beamon led Defiance with 14 points.
* Marell Jordan is one of the most dynamic scorers in NCAA Division III basketball and averages 20.5 points per game for the Yellow Jackets this season.
* After Saturday's game, Defiance hosts Earlham on Wednesday at 7:30 pm.
