TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology freshman
Evelyn Utley has been named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for her efforts in the Friday Night Spikes Meet last weekend.
Utley set a new Rose-Hulman women's track and field school record with a mark of 39' 6 1/2". The mark snapped a record from Janel Belton that occurred during the 2007 season.
Rose-Hulman finished 2nd overall in the team scoring last weekend, just slightly shy of first place DePauw University.
The honor marks the first career HCAC Field Athlete of the Week award for Utley.
The Fightin' Engineers return to action this weekend in the last Friday Night Spikes home meet of the 2022 season. A reminder that fans may not attend home events at Rose-Hulman until further notice.
