ANGOLA, Indiana -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers women's volleyball team traveled to Northern Indiana and brought back a quick three set victory over Trine on Saturday afternoon.
In this rare, late season, non-conference match, the Fightin' Engineers cruised to a quick win against the Thunder. In the first set, Rose-Hulman had to withstand a big comebck by the Thunder from down 17-22 to tying the game at 23. Howver, the Fightin' Engineers held on to a big 26-24 win in the first set.
In the next two sets, it was all Rose-Hulman as they would win 25-21 and 25-20.
Jillian Gregg led Rose-Hulman with 9 kills while
Kate Wood added 7 kills.
Sophia Harrison led the way in 17 assists while Gregg added 13.
Harrison also led the team with four service aces.
On the defensive end of the floor,
Lily Ebright led with 20 digs and
Allie Fults led with 3 blocks.
The Fightin' Engineers return to action on Wednesday night as they visit Anderson at 7 PM.
