LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team has secured the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament after falling 9-0 to league regular season champion Transylvania University on Saturday.
Taylor Goldman gave the tightest battle to Transylvania, falling in 3 sets at the No. 1 singles flight. Goldman split 6-4 sets before falling 10-7 in the third set tiebreaker to fall just shy of an undefeated regular season in conference play.
Wynne Aldrich had a strong result at No. 2 singles, falling narrowly 7-5 in the second set.
Rose-Hulman finished 4-2 in the HCAC regular season and has earned the No. 3 for the league tournament. The Fightin' Engineers will face Manchester University on Wednesday Oct. 12 at a time to be announced later.
