TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology volleyball team battled Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference title favorite Transylvania, but they fell in straight sets 20-25, 15-25, 13-25.
In addition to Homecoming, the Fightin' Engineers were celebrating National Girls & Women in Sports Day and saw their biggest home crowd of the season.
In the match, the Fightin' Engineers hung tight in the first set, but in the end, the Pioneers had too much firepower for the Fightin' Engineers.
Jillian Gregg led the way with 8 kills, and
Allie Fults and
Elizabeth Canon added 6 kills. Gregg and
Sophia Harrison each added 11 assists.
Lily Ebright had 10 digs for Rose-Hulman.
The Fightin' Engineers fall back to .500 at 9-9 and 2-2 in the HCAC while Transylvania improves to 15-5 and 3-0 in the HCAC.
