TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team advanced to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship Game with a penalty kick victory after a scoreless draw against Anderson University on Wednesday afternoon.
Following a 110-minute scoreless draw that Rose-Hulman held a 14-8 edge in shots, the two teams advanced to a best-of-five penalty kick shootout to determine the advancing team to the HCACÂ championship game.Â
Kyra Hicks put Rose-Hulman ahead 1-0 on the opening kick, before
Natalie Dillon stopped two Anderson penalty kicks to keep the lead at 1-0 after three rounds.
Paige Tomallo tied the penalty kicks at 1-1 for Anderson, before
Kiley McKee put the Engineers ahead 2-1. Taylor Baker tied the score at 2-2 heading into the final penalty kick.
Bri Camero-Sulak booted home a penalty kick to give Rose-Hulman a 3-2 lead. The final Anderson shot was wide of a diving Dillon as the Fightin' Engineers advanced to the HCAC championship for the third time in the last four years.
Camille Clark led a balanced Rose-Hulman offensive attack with 3 shots.Â

Both goalkeepers were outstanding in the match. Dillon recorded 7 saves, and Emmalee Paarlberg of Anderson tallied 6 saves.
Rose-Hulman (9-2-6) will travel to Hanover (12-2-3) on Saturday at 1 pm for the HCAC championship match.
