TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team is headed to Dubuque, Iowa to face the Ohio Northern Polar Bears in the NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday afternoon.  The first round match will begin at 3:30 pm Central Time on Saturday.

Loras College is the host of a 4-team tournament that takes place Saturday and Sunday as the field reduces from 64 teams to 16.  Rose-Hulman faces Ohio Northern on Saturday, along with Loras squaring off with Wisconsin-Superior.  The winners face off in the NCAA Division III Round of 32 on Sunday.

Rose-Hulman stands 10-2-6 entering the NCAA Tournament, while Ohio Northern has a 13-1-5 mark. The Fightin' Engineers earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament by virtue of their 1-0 win over Hanover College in the HCAC Tournament Championship Game on Saturday. 

NCAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman is making its 3rd NCAA Tournament appearance in program history with the last two coming in 2007 and 2019. In 2019, the Fightin' Engineers fell to Augsburg 1-0, and in 2007, they fell 1-0 to Denison.
* Ohio Northern is making its 7th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history with the last coming in 2021. In 2019, the Polar Bears made it to the Sweet 16 with wins over Grove City and Scranton before falling to Carnegie Mellon. In 2017, they made it to the Elite 8 with wins over Penn State-Behrend, Illinois Wesleyan, and William Smith before falling to Hardin-Simmons.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman comes in at 10-2-6 on the season, and they finished the year 7-0-4 against HCAC opponents.
* The Fightin' Engineers are unbeaten in their last 16 games with a 10-0-6 record in those games. This ties the 2007 NCAA Tournament team for the school record for the most consecutive games without a loss. This streak is also tied for the tenth longest active streak in the country.
* The Rose-Hulman defense also set two school record streaks of eight consecutive shutouts and 865 minutes without allowing a goal during this season. The shutout minutes streak is a record for both men's and women's soccer programs.
Kyra Hicks, a second-team all-HCAC honoree, led the team with 9 goals on the season including the game-winner in the HCAC Championship against Hanover.
* Lauren Marquardt added 8 goals, Lane Lawrence has 6 goals and Sarah Shoemaker has 5. Marquardt, Lawrence, and Shoemaker were all named first-team all-HCAC honorees. Shoemaker was also named the HCAC Midfielder of the Year.
Kiley McKee, a second-team all-HCAC selection, leads the Fightin' Engineers with 7 assists on the season. Alicia Rodriguez, Kiana Martin, and Hicks have each added 6 assists on the season as well. Martin was named to the all-HCAC second team.
* The center back duo of Grace Hobson and Megan Foder has been excellent this season, allowing just 2 goals in their last 12 games. Both players were named to the all-HCAC first-team, and Hobson was named the HCAC Defender of the Year.
Natalie Dillon has a record of 10-2-6 with a 0.50 goals against avearage and 60 saves this season.  Dillon has been a part of ten team shutouts and only allowed more than 1 goal in a game once this season. Dillon was named to the all-HCAC second-team.
* Camille Clark and Jayden Gibson were also named to the second-team all-HCAC.
* Head coach Amy Helliwell holds Rose-Hulman's career coaching school records with a mark of 132-98-20.  Helliwell has an HCAC regular season record of 75-37-11 at Rose-Hulman after winning Coach of the Year for a fourth time in 2022.

OPPONENT NOTES:
* Ohio Northern comes in at 13-1-5 with a win in the OAC Tournament last weekend.
* The Polar Bears and Fightin' Engineers have played two common opponents. Ohio Northern beat Hanover 3-2 and beat DePauw 2-0. The Fightin' Engineers beat Hanover 1-0 and tied Hanover 0-0. They also tied DePauw 1-1.
* Ohio Northern is led by Alyssa Beckett with 8 goals on the season. Jill Roberts has also added 6 goals.
* Emma Bowman leads the way with 9 assists, and Kylie Cabana has added 5 goals and 6 assists.
* In goal, senior keeper Becky Moss has made 38 saves to just 8 goals allowed this season. She has 14 shutouts on the season.

SERIES NOTES:
* This will be the first ever meeting between Ohio Northern and Rose-Hulman.
