TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology football team travels to Mount St. Joseph for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship game. The Fightin' Engineers seek their 3rd NCAA Division III Playoff appearance in program history (2016, 2021). Mount St. Joseph seeks its 6th playoff appearance and is first since 2009.
ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
*Â Rose-Hulman seeks its second straight HCAC championship and second straight NCAA Division III Playoff Appearance in this matchup. Â
* Rose-Hulman previously qualified for the NCAA Division III Playoffs in 2016 and 2021.
* The Fightin' Engineers have won 15 straight games against HCAC competition dating back to the spring 2021 season.

Miguel Robertson leads the offense with 1983 passing yards and 27 touchdowns with just 4 interceptions. Â
* Robertson has surpassed the 300-yard passing mark in a game four times this season and tied the single-game school record with 7 passing TDs in just a half vs. Defiance.

Jailen Hobbs has tied a Rose-Hulman single-season school record first set by Carl "Rocky" Herakovich in 1958 with 3 kick returns for a touchdown this season. Â Hobbs has 2 kickoff returns and 1 punt return for a touchdown in 2022.

Grant Ripperda had his first career 200-yard rushing game with 204 yards last week at Hanover to earn HCAC Player of the Week honors.

Daniel Huery leads the team with 70 catches for 817 yards and 10 touchdowns, highlighted by 5 100-yard games.

Tyce Miller leads the secondary with 6 interceptions as part of a strong defense..

Riley Roberts scored pick-six interception returns in consecutive games vs. Bluffton and Franklin.
* The kicking game has also been strong in 2022. Â
Kyle Rehberg is 7-11 on field goals and 42-46 on extra points;
Andrew Toler averages 43.5 yards per punt; and
Connor Whitesell has boomed 21 touchbacks on kickoffs this year.
MOUNT ST. JOSEPHÂ NOTES:
* Mount St. Joseph is ranked No. 22 in the American Football Coaches Association weekly poll, marking the first time since the 2019 game at St. John's that Rose-Hulman will face a nationally ranked team.
*Â Mount St. Joseph seeks its 6th NCAA Playoff appearance and its first since 2009 in Saturday's HCAC title game.
*Â Cornell Beachem Jr. is not only an outstanding football player - he is an NCAA Division III wrestling national champion. Â Beachem Jr. won the 174-pound weight class at the 2022 NCAA Division III National Championships. Â He has never lost a wrestling match at Mount St. Joseph.
* Josh Taylor has passed for 4,406 yards and 45 touchdowns, and also rushed for 1699 yards and 29 touchdowns, as a dual purpose threat at the quarterback spot.
*Â Noah Hammond leads the HCAC in tackles-for-loss (13.5) and sacks (10.5).
