TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The No. 3 ranked Transylvania University women's basketball team took down the Fightin' Engineers in their home and HCAC opener on Saturday afternoon by a score of 74-47.
The Fightin' Engineers hung tight in the first half of action, but the Pioneers size inside and hot three-point shooting led to a late half run to extend the lead to 44-21.
In the second half, Transylvania continued their hot shooting and would finish the game with 13 triples to just one for the Fightin' Engineers.
Jamie Baum led the Fightin' Engineers in scoring with 12 points and 3 assists, and she added 3 steals.
Rose Burnham and
Peyton Miller each finished in double figures with 10 points.
Nola Wilson added 7 points and added a career-high 5 steals.
CK Gallegos-Rodriguez led the team with 7 rebounds and added 4 points.
Transylvania improves to 6-0 on the season and 2-0 in the HCAC. Rose-Hulman falls to 2-3 on the season and 0-1 in the HCAC.
