TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team travels to Earlham in the Annual John Mutchner Cup game on Wednesday night at 7:30 PM.
ROSE-HULMANÂ (4-3, 1-0 HCAC) GAME NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman and Earlham compete for the John Mutchner Cup one time per year, and this year's contest is Wednesday night.
* The Cup is named for former Rose-Hulman head men's basketball head coach and athletic director John Mutchner (1963-88), who was also a standout athlete at Earlham. Mutchner has been inducted into both Athletic Halls of Fame.
* Rose-Hulman finished 15-10 last season and has been picked to finish third in the HCAC this season, according to the preseason coaches poll.

Max Chaplin has been in double figures during every game of the 2022-23 season and leads the Fightin' Engineers at 14.0 points per game.Â
* The Fightin' Engineers took down Transylvania 74-59 in the HCAC Opener. Chaplin led the team with 19 points and
Willie Bowman added 16 with four triples.

Miles McGowen is averaging a near double-double at 10.3 points and 9.7 rebounds.

Bradley Harden has been a nice all-around player at 8.6 points, 3.0 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. He is also shooting 46% from three on the season.
* The Fightin' Engineers return to the road on Saturday at 4:00 PM at Mount St. Joseph.
EARLHAM (1-5, 0-1 HCAC) GAME NOTES:
* Earlham sits at 1-5 on the season and 0-1 in the HCAC. The lone Quaker win came last week at #25 Wabash 65-57.
*Â The Quakers fell to Manchester on Saturday night against Manchester 60-75.
* Jaden Terry leads Earlham this season with 15.3 points per game. He also adds four rebounds and two assists per game.
* Tommy Makabu adds 15.2 points per game, and he is shooting 42% from three this season. Makabu also excels on the defensive end with over two steals per game.
* The Quakers next game will be on Saturday, December 10 vs. Anderson.
SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series 65-55.
* Rose-Hulman has won nine consecutive John Mutchner Cup games.
* The Fightin' Engineers have won 26 of the last 28 meetings and 18 of the last 19 meetings with the one loss coming at Earlham last season.
