TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball picked up a convincing victory against Earlham College 81-43 at home on Tuesday. Rose-Hulman improved to 8-6 overall and 6-3 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Earlham fell to 0-9 in the HCAC.
Hot shooting for Rose-Hulman led to a 46-19 lead at the halftime break. The team shot 60% from the field in the first half to build the 27-point edge, capped by a halftime buzzer beater from
Nola Wilson.
The hot shooting continued in the second half, as Rose-Hulman added 35 points in the final 20 minutes.
Jamie Baum topped the stat sheet for the Fightin' Engineers with 12 points and nine rebounds on 6-for-10 shooting in 19 minutes of work.
Nola Wilson finished with 11 points, including converting three triples.
Rowan Hein and
Kahlan Jester rounded out the double-figure scorers for the Engineers. Hein finished with 10 points and seven assists, while Jester recorded 10 points and five assists.
Other key contributors for Rose-Hulman include
Peyton Miller,
Allie Fults,
Mira Randolph, and
Nosa Igiehon. Miller finished with nine points and seven rebounds; Fults added nine points; Randolph finished with eight points; Igiehon recorded her season-high of six points.
Amari Bradford led Earlham with 16 points, and Willow Runyon scored 10 for the Quakers.
The Fightin' Engineers host Bluffton University on Saturday, February 5 for Senior Day. The team will honor its lone senior,
Nola Wilson, before the 1 pm tipoff.
