ANDERSON, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 4-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's tennis action with an 8-1 win at Anderson University on Saturday afternoon.
The Fightin' Engineers have now won 55 of their last 56 matches against HCAC competition and moved within one win of clinching the outright regular season league championship.
The doubles teams of
Joshua Giambattista and
Owen Reynolds at No. 1;
Grant Paradowski and
Mark Slaninka at No. 2; and
Rhian Seneviratne and
Arudrra Krishnan at No. 3 started off the match with victories to give the Engineers a 3-0 match advantage.
In singles action, Giambattista, Reynolds, Paradowski and Seneviratne each won in straight sets as part of the win. Slaninka won in a third set tiebreaker to complete the 8-1 match victory.
Rose-Hulman stands 8-8 and 4-0 in league matches, while Anderson has a 14-4 record and is 2-2 in conference play. The Fightin' Engineers travel to Franklin College for the HCAC regular season finale on Sunday at 11 am.
