TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team honored a trio of four-year team members on Senior Night before falling 8-1 to perennial Midwest power DePauw University on Wednesday night.
The Fightin' Engineers honored the standout careers of
Joshua Giambattista,
Arudrra Krishnan and
Mark Slaninka prior to the match. Giambattista has won 29 singles and 20 doubles matches at Rose-Hulman; Krishnan has 14 total career wins; and Slaninka has won 23 doubles and 10 singles matches at Rose-Hulman.
Freshman
Grant Paradowski provided the Rose-Hulman victory on the night with a 6-2, 6-4 win at the No. 5 singles position. Â
DePauw improved to 10-6 on the season, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 5-8. The Fightin' Engineers face Hanover College in a battle of the teams picked to finish in the top two spots in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings on Saturday at noon in Terre Haute.
