TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team draws with North Central in a highly-competitve game that was shortened by thunderstorms in the 77th minute.
This game was back and forth with both teams making runs, and both defenses refusing to be broken. Through the first half of action, the game was even at 0-0 with each team only having one shot on goal in the entire game. In the second half, things started to break open with North Central getting their chances at goal.
The Rose-Hulman defense led by
Zach Buvalic and John Biederstadt stood strong until the 69th minute when a miscue by the Fightin' Engineers led to a goal by Daniel Navarro.Â
However, in the 77th minute, the Fightin' Engineers responded with a strike from outside of the box by
AJ Yilmaz, assisted by
Caleb Urban. The goal was the 10th career by Yilmaz on the 19th career assist for Urban.
The Fightin' Engineers will return to action next Wednesday, September 14, at DePauw with a 7:30 pm start time.
