TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology football team hosts Albion College in the HCAC / MIAA Challenge on Saturday at noon at Cook Stadium.
ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman and Albion meet in a matchup of the defending champions of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Â
*Â This game is part of the 2nd annual HCAC/MIAA Challenge that will continue through at least 2024.

Winston Amankwah was named HCAC Defensive Player of the Week after snagging two interceptions in the narrow 24-23 loss to Trine.

Jeff Sokol is serving in his 12th year at Rose-Hulman with a career record of 71-38 and the top winning percentage in program history at .651. Â
* Sokol has led Rose-Hulman to three HCAC titles and NCAA Playoff appearances in 2016 and 2021.
*Â Justin Pearson was named a preseason All-American by D3football.com. Â Pearson, an all-HCAC and all-region selection in 2021, earned third-team preseason honors.

Jailen Hobbs is the reigning HCAC Special Teams Player of the Year after leading the league in kickoff return and punt return average last season. Â Hobbs currently holds the Rose-Hulman school record for punt return average at 11.9 yards per return.

Kyzer Bowen leads the team with 21 tackles over the first two games of the 2022 season.
ALBION NOTES:
* Albion is the defending MIAA champions after finishing 9-2 and reaching the NCAA Division III Playoffs in 2021.
* Albion outscored its first two opponents by a total of 103-2 and has averaged 597.5 yards per game while allowing just 185.5 yards per game.
