ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology rallied from a 2-1 deficit to pick up a strong 5-set volleyball win at Webster University on Wednesday night.
Rose-Hulman trailed 15-25, 25-22, 21-25 after three sets, before the Fightin' Engineers turned the match around with an impressive 25-15 fourth set. The Fightin' Engineers continued playing at a high level for a convincing 15-5 win in the deciding fifth set.
Megan Korte made a return to the hometown of St. Louis with a team-high 15 kills.Â
Elizabeth Canon added 12 kills, and
Sophia Koop contributed 10 kills on the evening.
Sophia Harrison and
Jillian Gregg recorded double-doubles for the Fightin' Engineers. Harrison had a team-high 26 assists and 15 digs, while Gregg added 17 assists and 12 digs.
Lily Ebright recorded a career-high 38 digs and led the team with 3 service aces to lead the defensive and serving performance.Â
Aaliyah Briggs contributed a team-best 2 blocks to the effort.
Rose-Hulman led the match with 59 kills to 41 for Webster and also had 95 digs in the 5-set match.
The Fightin' Engineers return home for the Rose-Hulman Invitational this weekend. The schedule includes the HCAC opener against Manchester on Friday at 7 pm, with matches against Illinois Tech (11 am) and Concordia Chicago (1:30 pm) on Saturday.
