TERRE HAUTE, Indiana -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team took home a hard-fought 0-0 draw with Washington University in the Grey Matters Brain Cancer Awareness game. In addition to the draw on the field, the women's soccer team raised over $1,200 for St. Jude Children's Hospital through donations and a silent auction.
On the field, the two teams fought hard for the entirety of the game with each team creating chances. The Bears out-shot Rose-Hulman 23-6, but the Fightin' Engineers defense held strong and did not break.
Natalie Dillon came up huge for the Fightin' Engineers in goal with a season-high 9 saves including a save early in the second half in which she laid-out full horizontal to keep the game level.
The best Rose-Hulman chance came on a shot by
Lane Lawrence in the 86th minute that resulted in a great save by the Wash U keeper.
The Fightin' Engineers (3-2-2) will return to action on Wednesday evening as they host Mount St. Joseph in the HCAC Opener for a 7:30 PM kickoff.
