Volleyball Sweeps IIT, Concordia Chicago; Improves to 7-7

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology volleyball team improved to 7-7 on the season with a 5-set win over Illinois Tech and a 3-set win over Concordia Chicago to conclude the Fightin' Engineer Invitational on Saturday at Hulbert Arena.

Rose-Hulman defeated Illinois Tech 20-25, 25-17, 25-15, 20-25, 15-11 in the opener, then swept Concordia Chicago 25-19, 25-16, 25-12 in the nightcap.

In the opener, Jillian Gregg recorded a triple-double with 12 kills, 19 assists and 12 digs to lead a balanced offensive performance.  Sophia Harrison added team-high marks of 30 assists and six service aces.  

Kate Wood added 14 kills to the performance, and Sophia Koop contributed four service aces.  Wood (3), Fults (2) and Gregg (2) also recorded multiple blocks.

Lily Ebright led the back row defensive performance with 23 digs.

In the nightcap, Fults led the way with 13 kills and Koop added 12.  Wood contributed seven kills to the effort.

Harrison, Koop and Gregg had three service aces each, and Fults paced the Engineers with three blocks.

Gregg and Harrison crossed the 20-assist mark with 21 and 20, respectively.  Ebright had a team-high 28 digs, and Kylie Rathbun (9) and Claudia Rowan (7) provided defensive depth.

For their efforts, Fults and Gregg were named to the all-Rose-Hulman Invitational Team following the event.

Rose-Hulman stands 7-7 on the season and returns home to face DePauw University on Wednesday at 7 pm.
