HOUSTON, Texas -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology completed a 3-1 weekend at the St. Thomas Volleyball Invitational with a split of two matches on Saturday.
Rose-Hulman won the nightcap over Widener 25-19, 26-24, 25-16 to earn its third win on the weekend. Saturday's opener was a tight 25-22, 25-22, 27-25 loss to Texas Lutheran.
Against Widener,
Elizabeth Canon led the offense with seven kills and
Sophia Koop added six kills.
Jillian Gregg had nine assists and three service aces, and
Sophia Harrison added eight assists and two aces to the performance.
Lily Ebright (12),
Kylie Rathbun (10) and
Claudia Rowan (10) had double-figure digs, and
Allie Fults provided one solo block for the Rose-Hulman defense.
In the opener against Texas Lutheran, Koop had nine kills and Korte added six.
Harrison had nine assists and four service aces, with Gregg contributing eight assists. Ebright had a team-high 18 digs.
Following the tournament, Ebright and Fults were named to the St. Thomas Invitational all-tournament team.
Rose-Hulman returns to action with three matches at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational next weekend.
