Women's Swim-Dive Team Travels to Valpo and Hosts IWU

TERRE HAUTE, Indiana -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's swimming and diving team continues the 2022-23 season with a pair of dual meets this weekend. The Fightin' Engineers will visit Valparaiso on Friday night at 5:00 PM CT. Then, they will host Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 PM.

ROSE-HULMAN WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING NOTES:
* The Rose-Hulman women's swimming and diving team includes 24 team members from 10 states and 2 nations.
* The Fightin' Engineers finished 3rd in the 2022 HCAC championships.
* Rose-Hulman's best finish at the HCAC Swimming and Diving Championships was a 2nd place effort in 2018.
Cate Stauffer led the individual performances at the 2022 HCAC championships with a 2nd place in the 1650-freestyle.
* Stauffer (400 IM) and Natalija Pumpurs (100 butterfly) added 4th place HCAC individual event finishes.

SEASON RESULTS:
* Rose-Hulman has fallen in dual meets to perennial women's powers DePauw and WashU so far this season. They beat Anderson in their last meet.
* The Fightin' Engineers have season-best finishes of 3rd at the Indiana Division III Meet, the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational and a Rose-Hulman home quad meet.
* Audrey Hankins has earned two HCAC Women's Diver of the Week honors after strong performances at DePauw and Illinois Wesleyan.
* Annie Daugherty has paced the team in the 200 breaststroke events.
* Tori Kinnamon has the team-best time in the 200 bufferfly.
* Lauren Meyer has led the squad in the 50 and 100 breaststroke, 100 IM and 200 IM.
* Natalija Pumpurs has tallied team-best marks in the 50, 100 and 200 backstroke events, along with the 50 butterfly, 100 butterfly and 50 freestyle.
* Cate Stauffer has team-best marks in the 100, 200, 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyle events, along with the 400 IM.

VALPARAISO NOTES:
* The meet will be a dual meet with the Valparaiso Crusaders
* Valparaiso is 0-7 in dual meets this year including losses to Southern Indiana, Evansville, Eastern Illinois, Bellarmine, Green Bay, Butler, and Lewis College.

ILLINOIS WESLEYAN NOTES:
* The meet will be a dual meet with the Illinois Wesleyan Titans.
* The Titans are 0-2 in dual meets this year with losses to Lewis College and Augustana.
* The Titans finished 4th in a talented Carthage invite and finished 2nd to just #8 WashU in their home invite.
