TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team returns to the road following a four-game home stand as they visit Defiance on Saturday at 1:00 PM. The Fightin' Engineers went 3-1 on their home stand with wins over Franklin, Bluffton, and Manchester.
ROSE-HULMANÂ (8-6, 5-2Â HCAC) GAME NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers bounced back from their three game losing streak with a three-game win streak against Bluffton, Franklin, and Manchester.
* Rose-Hulman is just 4-5 on the road this season. They played nine of their first ten games on the road, but they have not had a road game in a month since their 83-71 loss to Hanover on December 14.
* This will be Coach
Nick Sales first game ever coaching against his alma mater. Sales played for the Yellow Jackets from 2006-2010, and he served as a graduate assistant coach from 2011-2013. Sales won the HCAC Player of the Year award and was named an Honorable Mention NCAA Division III All-American for Defiance in 2009-2010.

Max Chaplin leads the team with 13.2 points per game.

Miles McGowen also averages double figures with 12.2 points and 8.9Â rebounds per game.

Willie Bowman, and
Kobe Stoudemire have been lights out from three, shooting a combined 51-113 (45%) this season.
* Chaplin led the Fightin' Engineers with 23 points in the 82-79 win over Manchester on Wednesday.
* Harden added a 15 point, 9 rebound, and 6 assists performance.Â
* McGowen and
Terry Hicks each dominated inside with 14 points and 10 rebounds for McGowen and 14 points and 9 rebounds for Hicks.

Nick Sales is completing his first year at Rose-Hulman. Sales was associate head coach at Marietta for the past nine seasons where he won seven OAC regular season championships, made three NCAA tournaments, and reached the NCAA Division III Final Four in 2022. Sales was 204-45 on staff at Marietta.
* Rose-Hulman returns to the road on Wednesday with a matchup between the top two teams in the HCAC at Anderson at 7:30 PM.
DEFIANCE (5-9, 0-7Â HCAC) GAME NOTES:
* Defiance sits at 5-0 on the season and 0-7 in the HCAC.Â
* The Yellow Jackets have fallen in four straight games following their three game win streak before Christmas.
* On Wednesday night, Defiance fell to HCAC unbeaten Anderson 91-88 in double overtime. The Yellow Jackets led by 2 with the ball and 12 seconds to go in both regulation and overtime, but Anderson found a way to tie it up, and then win the game on a 35-footer at the buzzer in double overtime.
* Marell Jordan leads the team with 20.1 points per game this season. Jordan scored 28 points while playing 48 of 50 minutes in the double overtime loss to Anderson
* Sophomore Landen Swanner averages 11.1 points per game while shooting 43% from three on the season.
* Te Jones has also averaged double figures with 10.5 points per game.
* Defiance will return to the road on Wednesday with a road game at Earlham at 7:30 PM.
SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series 20-14.
* The Fightin' Engineers split with the Yellow Jackets last season with a 78-75 win at home and a 64-57 loss on the road.
* Rose-Hulman has won nine of the last eleven games and nine of the last 11 games against Manchester
