TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's swimming and diving team fell to Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon 107-175. This is the first time that the Fightin' Engineers scored more than 100 points against the Titans in five years.
Lauren Meyer led the Fightin' Engineers with four top-2 finishes in the meet. Meyer won the 100 Breaststroke and brought home second place finishes in the 100 Butterfly, 200 Medley Relay, and 200 Freestyle Relay.
Natalija Pumpurs and
Cate Stauffer each brought home three second place finishes as well. Pumpurs finished second in both the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle Relay with Meyer, and she also added an individual second place finish in the 100 Backstroke. Stauffer finished second in the 200 Medley Relay with both Meyer and Pumpurs and brought home second place finishes in the 200 and 500 Freestyle events.
Audrey Hankins continued her impressive diving season with a pair of wins in the 1 meter and 3 meter diving events.
Rose-Hulman returns to action their home pool on Friday, January 20 at 6:00 against HCAC foes Franklin Grizzlies and Hanover Panthers.
