Men's Basketball Hosts MSJ for a Pink Out on Saturday at 1:00 PM

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team looks snap a three-game skid with a home game on Saturday at 1:00 PM against Mount St. Joseph. The Fightin' Engineers had won four straight games prior to the current streak.  Saturday is also our annual Pink Out for Cancer Awareness Day.

CANCER AWARENESS DAY
* Fans are encouraged to WEAR PINK to the Cancer Awareness Day game.
* We are offering FREE ADMISSION, but will be accepting donations for Pink of Terre Haute and their cancer support efforts in lieu of charging for admission.
* We will have a 50/50 raffle with proceeds going to Pink of Terre Haute.
* Free Chick-Fil-A will be available for students while it lasts.
* A Half Court Shot contest with prizes takes place at halftime.
* T-shirts and other items will be available at the game in return for a donation to Pink of Terre Haute.

ROSE-HULMAN (9-9, 6-5 HCAC) GAME NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman is 4-2 at home on the season with their losses coming to Wabash and Hanover.
* Max Chaplin won the HCAC Player of the Week two weeks ago and leads the team with 13.8 points per game. He has recorded career-highs in points in each of the last two wins over Manchester and Defiance with 23 and 26 points.
* Miles McGowen also averages double figures with 12.2 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
* Bradley Harden and Kobe Stoudemire have been lights out from three, shooting a combined 41-92 (45%) this season.
* McGowen led the team with 19 points and 7 rebounds in Wednesday's loss to Hanover.
* Terry Hicks led the Fightin' Engineers with 20 points in Saturday's loss to Transylvania. Hicks is the third Fightin' Engineers scorer in double figures this season with 10.1 points and 5.8 rebounds.
* Nick Sales is completing his first year at Rose-Hulman. Sales was associate head coach at Marietta for the past nine seasons where he won seven OAC regular season championships, made three NCAA tournaments, and reached the NCAA Division III Final Four in 2022. Sales was 204-45 on staff at Marietta.
* Rose-Hulman returns home on Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM as they host rival Earlham. The Fightin' Engineers took down Earlham in the John Mutchner Cup game back in December by a score of 77-65.

MOUNT ST. JOSEPH (6-12, 5-6 HCAC) GAME NOTES:
* Mount St. Joseph comes in at 6-12 on the season and 5-6 in the HCAC.
* The Lions had dropped 4 of their last 5 including a loss on Thursday to Defiance who picked up their first conference win of the 2022-23 season.
* Magic number 60. The Lions are just 2-11 this season when allowing more than 60 points. One of their two wins came in the first meeting with the Fightin' Engineers, a 66-63 win.
* Jack Kolar and Luke Collinsworth led the Lions in the first meeting with 17 points each.
* Collinsworth leads the team this season with 14.5 points per game on 49% shooting.
* Kelvin Turner adds 10.7 points and Kolar adds 7.8 points for the Lions.
* Turner has missed three of the last four games, and Kolar has missed the last four games for Mount St. Joseph.
* Mount St. Joseph will return home on Wednesday as they host Bluffton at 7:30 PM.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series 18-17.
* Mount St. Joseph has won the last two meetings with the Fightin' Engineers including a 66-63 win in overtime earlier this season.
* The Fightin' Engineers had won eight consecutive games against the Lions going back to 2018 prior to this two-game skid.
* Prior to those eight wins, Mount St. Joseph won all 6 meetings from the 2015-16 season through 2017.
* The Fightin' Engineers are 11-6 on their home floor against the Lions.
