TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's volleyball sweeps Defiance 25-15, 25-15, 25-12 to pick up their first HCAC win of the year. The Fightin' Engineers improve to 11-10 on the year and 1-2 in the HCAC.
The Fightin' Engineers came out and took advantage of the Defiance mistakes early on as they cruised to a 25-15 win in the first set.
In the second set, Rose-Hulman came out swinging with 17 kills and a .267 hitting percentage as they won the second set 25-15.
The Fightin' Engineers cruised once again in the third set with a 25-12 victory.
Rose-Hulman totaled 32 kills, 16 service aces, and 16 blocks in the dominating victory.
Jillian Gregg led the team with 8 kills, 18 assists, and 5 service aces.
Sophia Koop and
Kate Wood added 7 kills, and Wood led the team with a .429 hitting percentage.
Koop added 4 service aces and
McKenzie Gross added 3.
Lily Ebright added 17 digs in the win.
Allie Fults dominated the front line with 4 blocks.
The Fightin' Engineers will return to action on Wednesday, October 18 as they host the Anderson Ravens at 7 PM.
