TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team will host the Bluffton Beavers on Saturday at 4 PM to open the 2023 HCAC Tournament.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers closed out the regular season at 10-5-2 overall and 6-2-1 in the HCAC.
* This is just the third time in the Sean Helliwell era and the first time since 2018 that the Fightin' Engineers did not earn a top-two seed in the HCAC Tournament.
* Rose-Hulman dropped their regular season finale to Hanover 1-0 after the Panthers scored the game-winner in the last five minutes of the game.
* The Fightin' Engineers had the top defense in the HCAC in league play this season, allowing just two goals. Manchester and Transylvania tied for 2nd with 8 goals allowed.
* Caleb Urban is the Fightin' Engineers all-time career assists leader and leads the team and the HCAC with eight assists this season.
* Tyler Eldridge is 4th in the HCAC in assists with 6, and Chase Kedzior and Peter Borger are tied for 7th with 4.
* Connor Patton leads the team offensively with eight goals this year which ranks 6th in the HCAC. Patton also ranks second in the HCAC with four game-winning goals this season.
* Urban ranks sixth in the conference, leading the team with 20 points. Patton follows him ranking tenth with 17 points.
* John Biederstedt is tied for the HCAC lead with nine clean sheets this season. He also ranks 2nd in goals against average at 0.800.
* In conference games, Biederstedt leads all goalies with .222 goals against average. 
* With a win, The Fightin' Engineers will travel to Hanover College on Wednesday, November 1 for a rematch with the Panthers at 2 PM.

BLUFFTON NOTES:
* Bluffton comes into the HCAC Tournament at 7-7-2 overall and 3-4-2 in the HCAC.
* The Beavers drew with the HCAC Champions, Manchester, 1-1 to close out the season.
* Bluffton closed the season with a rough stretch, going 0-3-1 since their 2-1 win over Earlham.
* Elijah Zimmerman leads the team in goals and ranks 8th in the HCAC with 7.
* Zimmerman and Benjamin Davidson lead the team with two game-winning goals each.
* Zimmerman and Andrew Ireland lead the team in assists with 4, and they rank 7th in the HCAC.
* The Bluffton goalkeeper, Angel Velasco-Urbina has recorded 81 saves to 38 goals allowed this season. 
* He is averaging 2.44 goals allowed per game, and he has yet to record a shutout on the season.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series over Bluffton 18-0.
* The Fightin' Engineers took down the Beavers 3-0 on Senior Day one week ago.
* Two of the last four meetings between the two teams have been decided by one goal.
