CINCINNATI, Ohio-- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers took on #17 Transylvania University in the semifinal round of the HCAC Tournament on Saturday. The team suffered a loss after four sets 22-25, 25-21, 14-25, 13-25.
Megan Korte led the team with 17 kills in the match. She was followed by
Sophia Koop totaling 11 kills.
Jillian Gregg was the team's assist leader tallying 35 on the night.Â
Lily Ebright set the pace defensively totaling 33 digs in the match. Gregg also reached double figures in digs with 17.Â
After a narrow loss in the first set, the Engineers bounced back in set two. The team put together a five-point run to stand ahead 19-11. A kill by Korte on an assist from Gregg evened the match at one set each.Â
The Pioneers were able to catch a rhythm offensively in the third and fourth set to claim the win and eliminate the Engineers from the postseason tournament.Â
Rose-Hulman ends their 2023 season with a record of 15-14 overall and 4-5 in the HCAC.Â
